Yes, my very good friend Seph did fight in combat in a little place called the Falkland's
I will let him tell the story of how he put out a Argentine squad.
Now me I just was behind the lines in a little place called Iraq supporting the combat soldiers and airmen, by no means a combat veteran.

It depends on the weapon but most can be dry fired without hurting anything, these weapons have been dry-fired so many times before you owned them. There are certain few that you never want to dry-fire such as the Type 14 Nambu pistol, the striker tip can break.
