Re: NEW PROJECT.......................

I'd try to find a Naval 2-bander with 1:48 twist barrel, rear sight is easier to use and usually much more accurate.

Re: Random Meaningless Pictures-Lets See Them

Dunc,

Just the thought of you in high heels and tights ruined my dinner and made the wine come out through my nose... Please wish for something else, I don't think the world could bear it!

Re: ARDESA IN LINE

Duncan,

Teflon tape - you won't need any solvents, the breeck plug will come loose easily. The best BP solvent is water, anyway. The rest is just there for upping the price... They kinda say that themselves too.

Probably a Musgrave, they made some Palma match rifles.

Re: SUCCESS!

'nother tip of the week - use teflon tape on the threads, and the nipple will come out extremely easily... Either that of some hi-temp lubricant like copper paste. Works like a charm... To free seized stuff, a mixture of oil and aceton is better than any pentrating oil - but even that needs some soa...

Re: THE BEST LAID PLANS....................

Dunc, Try about 50% beeswax and 50% arachide (peanut) oil - and yes, panlubing will work - your lube just needs the right consistency and you need to wait long enough (just a bit warmer than room temp). Put the bullets in a pan (pie tin, whatever,...) and pour the molten lube in till the grease groo...

Re: THE BEST LAID PLANS....................

Dunc, Lose the alox, get a good, decent BP lube - alox is a cr*ppy BP lube. Try 50/50 beeswax/peanut oil (or olive oil, for that matter) for starters. Your lube is the issue, it doesn't combine with BP fouling. Also, you could try wiping with a damp (not wet!) patch between shots to ease your fouling...
