Re: Blue Book 6/31st December 1969 Vietnam

Duncan .... Almost all of those glasses were Army issue, certainly not what was popular in the civilian world.
They were free and you didn't care if you looked dorky in a combat zone. ....

Re: Blue Book 6/31st December 1969 Vietnam

I enjoyed looking through the book, saw a few familiar faces. Since I left with the 9th in August, there are no photos of my smiling face in there. I always thought it unfair that the 6/31st had to stay when the rest of us went to Hawaii and had such easy duty there. Although many didn't stay in Ha...

Re: One image cartoons

My great-great grandparents on my Mother's side were Fergusons born in Scotland in early 1800s.
I have pictures of the Ferguson tartan, mostly green and blue.

Re: 1898 Krag-Jorgensen trap door.

Duncan .... I'm guessing there is a big price and time difference between the ferry and the chunnel? I see some difference between the Krags, a different cocking pull shape and magazine handle. Does yours have the lever on the left side to change between single shot and magazine fed rounds? I think...

Re: Ammo prices 24 years ago

Me too, I will never shoot up the ammo I already have so not buying any more. Although I did buy a box of
.30-40 for the Krag I posted, that was the most I ever paid for any ammo in my life, and it's not even my rifle. ....

1898 Krag-Jorgensen trap door.

The family of my daughter-in-law has a Springfield Armory 1898 Krag made in 1902. It is a family heirloom and the metal is in very good shape, the wood is a little rough but not awful. Since I am always looking for a project, I offered to clean it up as it hasn't received any attention for ... like...

Re: Ammo prices 24 years ago

I went back and looked at what I was paying about 10 to 12 years ago and prices have basically
doubled since then. Since I rarely shoot anymore, the prices are not a problem for me, sadly. ... :(

Re: Today's top song on Billboard 200

Yup, these Rap-Crap lyrics have been going on for a long time. Charlton Heston famously did this
32 years ago. He later said that Time-Warner would probably never hire him to make a movie again.
