Re: I don't know what the real answer to crazy mass killers is

Well, it certainly is going to be hard on the NRA financially, but not sure how hard.
I have one of the credit cards that is being dropped, although I haven't heard anything
from the card company itself.
So it's like always.... wait and see what happens......

Re: Went to the range today for a change

They may have given us a quick look at one in basic, I don't remember, but we never got to handle one or shoot it...... And now I have my very own......... And I'm sure I've told the story about arriving at Artillery AIT as a PFC and the First Sgt said I was now the Battery Commander's dr...

Re: Went to the range today for a change

Joe ..... I was in one of the last groups to go through basic at Ft. Lewis, WA with an M-14.
A heavy SOB that hurt my shoulder, would rather have carried a lighter M-16 on those marches........

Re: Went to the range today for a change

When there was a Lt., me, and an RTO, there were a few times I played infantry. And I didn't ever fire my rifle while still in the arty unit. The first time I fired an M-16 was in combat, not in basic, not in AIT, not in "Shake-n-Bake" school, not even at the 9th Div. Reliable Academy, wh...

Re: I don't know what the real answer to crazy mass killers is

I live in Washington state, sadly it's run by liberals, and we have some stiff gun laws, and they are adding more. Already in this state, almost every gun sale, even family, needs a background check, they wanted to close the "gun show loophole"..... idiots. Looks like in the next couple o...

Re: Went to the range today for a change

My SKS is a 1961 Chinese factory 26. Put a scope on mine using the Red Star housing, and it came to me with the pistol grip on it. Can't use stripper clips because of the scope, even though I have a couple hundred of the good BXN strippers I got from a guy in Slovakia (ebay). Took off the original ...

Quick trip.....

Had to make a quick trip across the state to attend a memorial for my niece that passed away. A sudden heart attack, she was only 51, way too young...... :( It was about 800 miles round trip because I had to go around the mountain passes, because I don't have snow tires..... ...... So it bec...

Re: The camera of the Vietnam war

I didn't have one in Nam, but I did have one later. Most of my family photos were taken
with one of these in the '70s. Then I got real fancy and bought a basic 35mm camera, before
going digital.

Yes, they were fun, although I think my wife drove them more than I did.
I remember that I sat so low that I was at eye level with the lug nuts on a semi.....
Kind of a odd feeling.. .. when doing 75mph on the freeway.

Re: Gew 98 from WWI

The only Mauser I have is a DWM Modelo Argentino 1891 cavalry carbine made in 1900.
Sadly, previous owner cut off about 1.5 inches from butt and screwed on a rubber pad, but
that's why I got it real cheap.

Interesting how you can manage to get all these old cameras to work.
This one reminds me of the Polaroid Instant camera I bought back in '69.

Re: THE FIRST WORLD WAR as reported in the daily news

If the annual whiskey consumption was 100,000,000 gallons per year and the population of the US was 103,000,000 people (US Census Bureau) and the consumption is one gallon per person per year. That means they are counting women and children in the one gallon per year, so men are obviously drinking ...

Re: new toy

Very nice!! Is that an actual silencer or a flash suppressor, and that looks like a good scope.
I have a 308 rifle but shoot mostly 7.62x51 surplus ammo as it is cheaper, and it seems
a semi-auto goes through a lot more ammo. Great looking gun......
