Re: PE57 At Long Last

Thanks, gang! Niner, yes, The Sunday crew got a sneak preview. I actually got it back in November but kept it secret until Christmas. It was hard to do! Duncan, thank you for the kind offer of a manual. I'm good though. Niner Delta, thank you for the cool info about the importer. I love littl...

PE57 At Long Last

It’s a PE57, the civilian version of the Sturmgewhr 57. It allows those not in the army to participate in the traditional shooting competitions. The STGW57 was the Swiss army rifle that followed the K31 and preceded the STGW90. It’s chambered in 7.5X55 and even retains the iconic beer keg charging h...

Re: Uruguay Mauser Model 1871/94

A shame about the ammo situation.

It really is a great looking rifle. Maybe you'll eventually sell it to someone that wants to try reloading that round.

:)

K31/42

A new member of the family. It looks just like a regular K31. DSC02578.JPG Getting a little closer we see something strange on the top. DSC02579.JPG Hey! It's a 1.8X scope (obviously) that has been mounted on the side of the receiver. That graduated slider moves an arm that adjusts the reticle for r...

Re: Mainly for Archfluffy......

That rear sight. Yikes.

You'd have to decided if you really want to restore a rifle you might not really want. I have a thing for Swiss rifle otherwise I wouldn't have ever bought my two.

I wonder what they did to the old sight? Just damage it so bad it had to come off?

Such a mean looking rifle

I've been after one for a long time. Sigh. I had one in my Fluffy little hands. It's no light-weight, that's for sure.

Some day some day. ;)

Re: Al Capone's favorite guns and other possessions being auctioned

This is a cool post!

It shows that often times it isn't the firearm itself that people value. And some bidders really value the gangster connection.

Cool to see it go so high.

Re: Gun show today....

I have not gone to a gun show since the pandemic started. Here the big show has a limit on the number of people allowed in the building at a time. Word from a friend is that you can spend the day in the paring lot and still not get in. The result is that they end up with two markets - indoor and out...
