Parts Questions
Hi Guys, I have Mauser parts that I'm trying to identify. 1. An ejector. I'm thinking 93/95. Why wouldn't it fit an 1891 Argentine, though? (That's cosmoline, not rust.) http://i1147.photobucket.com/albums/o560/Smith-Sights/parts/93%2095%20Mauser%20ejector.jpg 2. Floor plate. What model? 1909? http:...

Re: M/N target (peep) sights.............
I tried one as a compliment to what I do. I just can't get used to peep sights that far forward. I mean, they're well made, but both the Mojo and this one have the same problem of being too far forward for my liking. I've come to prefer the stock rear sight with the notch worked over with a 2mm diam...

I Found Old Pics Of My M44!
Hello, I don't have this carbine any longer. I wish I did. It was an Izhevsk M44 made in 1944. What finally drove me to sell it was that it had canted sights. All pictures are c. 2007-2008, about four years prior to the founding of Smith-Sights. I knew nothing about these rifles at the time and only...

Re: Got Ahold Of Some HV Mags
Hello, The HV (No-Jam) magazine was developed for the M27-30. It was marked HV. They then became standard on the M39 and the "HV" marking was done away with. I don't know why this was so, but I assume because the standard magazines were take out of service. I don't know this for a fact. A ...

I Am Back
Hello, Back in late 2012 a lot was happening. I was preparing for a marriage on Jan 1, 2013, and my computer went down around that time. Needing it for work, I did a rush job bringing it back up and didn't bother going through a lot of files, including bookmarks. Several got lost and I'm still redis...

I believe it's a GEW 88/05 as it has the S roll mark and has been re-serial numbered. The 88's had many different bore diameters over their life but the S roll mark indicates it was regrooved and rechambered for the 7.92-57 cartridge adapted in 1905. Yours was also modified to take the stripper cli...
