I cast bullets using wheel weights using a 20# lee furnace. So far obtaining wheel weights has not been a problem. I cast primarily for my Rem 03-A3, MAS 36 and 308 Isaphore. Thanks for posting this info it would have been handy when I went to nam in 66 with Mobile Construction Battalion 10! My training about the Vietnamese was non existant.

I had an M1 carbine but traded it off when I was interested in cowboy shooting. But I do have a nice 44 cal ruger vacquero now however. Do miss the carbine!

Yes, I shoot the ramrod bayonet 88 trapdoor with 2F black with a cast 405 bullet. Accuracy not that great but it is fun to shoot. I also have a 1873 TD that was made into a carbine. I shoot it too and have used imr Trail boss powder and accuracy is only so so. The trail boss load is much more accura...

I have not heard of or ever seen a MN 22 cal rifle. Yours looks exceptionally clean and new. I havent seen this rifle advertised in any surplus magazines. I hope you succeed in finding the right bullet for good accuracy. Good shooting...... Mike in California
