Beals Navy .36

This is a Remington "Beals" Navy .36. Yes the designer was a distant relative of mine and I just had to have one. As you can see some of the parts are missing and I'm in the process of rebuilding it. It is in firing shape now but I don't want to risk it. http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/...

L/26

Looks like your having fun Chris!

I shot one of those L-26s during one of my trips to Finland. They are very accurate for an open bolt gun.

ANOTHER FINN M/27 1932 vkt

I went to set up my table at the Puyallup gun show and was directed to a table with a Finn rifle. I arrived there and found a like new 1932-dated VKT m/27. The price was a bit high at $200 but I bought it anyway. I paid for it and started to walk away when the guy said here is the bayonet that came ...

A day at the range with the daughter

The 19 yr old daughter wanted to go shooting at the Paul Bunyan range today in Puyallup, Washington. The daughter had her Winchester model 75 .22 with her while dad fired a “SA” stamped Russian 91/30 which was a 1936 dated Izzy. I thought I would also try some Chinese 7.62x54R ammo as well as 1980s ...

STAMPS

They have been out there a while, as you can tell by the postings. The Finns are scratching their heads why some of this stuff is showing up here and not in Finland. For an example the "SA" marked 91/30 bayonets.

Good reading on Finnish Military cartridges is: Finnish Military Cartridges 1918 – 1945 by Mika Pitkanen and Timo Simpanen You don't see this mentioned much on the bigger sites but it is an excellent book. Like the Palokangas books its in Finnish with English reviews at the end of each chapter. A mu...
