Eddystone M1917

Post by C&R Guy » Sat Mar 29, 2014 7:46 am

Picked up an Eddystone M1917 from Simpson Ltd. 479XXX serial. All E parts with the exception of a couple of smaller ones. Should be easy to find "E" replacements. It was field stripped, checked and cleaned. With a little luck, I will be on the range this afternoon.

I like the M17, they are excellent shooters. Did you get to the range with it?

Sorry for the very slow response. Work has been a bitch.

I took the Eddystone to the range on 3/30/14. I posted a standard NRA 100 yard target and put 20 rounds (M2 Ball Lake City ammo) on target. I was so impressed that I moved over to the 200 yard range and using a standard NRA 200 yard target, put 20 rounds on target with the majority of the rounds being in the 8,9,10 and x circles. Needless to say I was surprised how well the rifle performed out of the box.
No hang ups, misfires or ejection problems.

I am very happy with my purchase.

Nice rifle, although I have no British rifles and what little I know about them
is what I read on these forums.

But I do have that same red bench vise and it works well, for the money.

Niner Delta, Got the bench vice for $40.00 at a gun shop in Lomira WI. Really comes in handy.

My pleasure :D The reason it's dark is that you had the light behind it and didn't use flash...

My man cave window faces the West. I normally take the photos in the morning. For some reason, I was working on the Eddystone late in the afternoon and decided to take a few photos. Again, thanks for you help. If I post anything in the future that needs a touchup, please do.
