Had a good day's shooting at Catterick yesterday, after heavy rain in the morning the sun came out after dinner and i gave my P14 a airing.

Later in the day i got the chance of shooting my pals 50/70 Trapdoor, and myself, being by no stretch of the imagination a Billy Dixon shot, was quite pleased to be getting most of my shots onto the 100yd nra target at 50m. :D

I didn't get any details of the load but i did notice the heavier boollit's seemed the more accurate.

A few pics from the day ......

Nice rifle!!
I've found that those 50/70's kick like a mule..

As an aside, that is not a "conversion". I t appears to be a Model 1868 which was originally made as a cartridge gun and not from a surplus musket.

I missed this popst Joe, probably because of the Italy Holiday.
Looks an outstanding piece of history and that smoke - it's a weeks fix!!
