86,000 M1's from Korea

Looks like 86,000 M1 Garands are going to be allowed into the US from Korea. At the same time over 600,000 M1 carbines are still blocked...for now.

Maybe this will have some effect on the price of Garands. If the Koreans dumped 600,000 plus carbines that would lower the prices dramatically for carbines.

I would love to have an M1 Garand but we are not trusted to have such things in the UK. I don't see the logic of the US government blocking the re-importation of rifles made in the USA. It doesn't make sense to me. As for the M1 Carbines, there must be hundreds of thousands if not millions in private hands in the US already, so what is the problem having a few more? What relavance is the magazine capacity, as it is not a public safety problem for the ones in the US already, is it?
Regards
Peter.

Since when does a government agency....any government, any agency... have to act with normal common sense?

I have heard they are in rough condition so not likely to have any effect on decent rifles. Regards, Rick.
