An excellent video By Rob Deans of the Victorian Riflemen of which I am a member. Particularly note the piece from 12:34 on, that is fantastic engineering but the whole video is very interesting.

That new and improved breech loading flintlock is a curiosity for sure. The rifle that followed that is more or less actually historically interesting... apart from that added rubbery thing made to seal the chamber. That second offering looks to be not much of an improvement over a converted trap door Springfield considering all the bolt movements as well as the fact that the original didn't have the seal to prevent powder blow back.

Perhaps you missed the point I was trying to make. Bill actually made all 3 of them and i think that the workmanship is fantastic.
