What Is Your Oldest Firearm?

Mine is the Remington Rolling Block that is photographed in the 'Exhibition Forum'. I think it is 126 years old (1877).

1888 Chinese .318 Gew Kommission rifle. The wood is in great condition, but the finish has turned black. I have a large oval cartushe on the butt stock with four Chinese charactors inscribed in the oval.

I would like to clean up the wood, but I do not want to destroy any value to the mil surp! What do you think about my cleen-up idea?

two of them are tied. 2 gew 88 commission rifles. one was made at danzig, the other at loewe berlin. most of the other rifles i have collected are model 1891's, from one country or another. that sure seems to be a popular year to have adopted a new rifle. y'all have a good day, Keith

Mine is a .72 cal. Prussian "Potsdam" smoothbore musket, Model 1806, made in Danzig in 1835 as a flintlock and arsenal converted to percussion in 1845. I had the barrel relined in 2001 (now .69 cal.) and it shoots beautifully, tho a bit hard on the shoulder.

Lots of these on the competitive line at www.n-ssa.org
