Martini-Henry Markings
I don't post here a lot but sure learn a lot from reading this site.
Anyway, I was hoping maybe someone could help me understand some markings on my Martini-Henry. It's a Mk IV that at some time was smoothbored and used probably by a native police dept somewhere. Can anyone figure out where it was used?
There's an I G with a vertical arrow in between on the wood next to the Enfield roundel. I think I G means India.

No answers, but a true appreciation for a beautiful piece of history.

Interesting that the plaque is stamped using individual letter stamps, except for 'Police Dept', which is carved in script.
