The country that avoids war and the country that fights but has a hard time winning have been combined. The Swiss made some excellent firearms and the French made some unique and occasionally inspiring ones. We have added the Belgian and Dutch since they are neighbors.

Did a little Swiss rifle shooting yesterday, and shot some piccies too

My first experience with the SR 1897 Cadet, and I was very pleased. I entered this one in the contest.

She shot really smoothly, and recoil was pleasant. I was using 180gr Hornady RN's with 35gr of 3031.

As shown, I took the 1893 carbine out as well, and it was a real hoot...although I had a little too much fun with the Cadet and didn't have much ammo to spare for it.

Overall, it was a really nice afternoon with the range to myself....I guess that's just one of the advantages of the night shift :)

Anyways, It's vacation time for me. I'll be participating in a combat shoot on the 17th with my 96/11, so I'll try to bring back pictures from that.

I'm off to hopefully sunny FL...as long as I don't attract hurricanes like I did last year.
