Welcome to the Swiss rifles forum!

The country that avoids war and the country that fights but has a hard time winning have been combined. The Swiss made some excellent firearms and the French made some unique and occasionally inspiring ones. We have added the Belgian and Dutch since they are neighbors.

Welcome to the Swiss rifles forum!

Post by plantfoam » Tue Aug 05, 2003 6:32 pm

Hello to all,

Ever since I got my first K-31 about 2 years ago, I've been fascinated by these fine guns. What was I thinking when I bought this weird rifle for $145 at a gunshow? What have I gotten myself into?

At first, I thought I had paid too much..AIM introduced the $89 delivered deal shortly after (I was too young for a C&R anyways). Soon though, I realized that I had gotten something that was worth every penny. Who would have thought that a gun from a neutral country could have so much history?

The purpose of this forum is to bring out that history in these rifles, as otherwise, they're just wood and metal. I'm certainly no expert in this field, but if we pool our knowledge, everyone will benefit.

Every question related to the Vetterli and Scmidt-Rubin series of rifles, and everything in between, is fair game here. I may not be able to answer your questions, but if we're courteous to our visitors, then we will gain a greater range of knowledge.

Thanks for stopping by, and welcome to the Swiss Rifle Forum!

Hey Phil welcome back !

You got yourself into troubles now as a K31 is no Schmidt Rubin series rifle so we should stop talking about those here then, and how about a Swiss Peabody or a Stgw 90 (= SIG 550) those are not between the two mentioned either  .

Well I'm just kidding here and nice to see that you are still there, how many Swiss rifles have you got by now ?

Thanks,

Guisan. :D
