Tag Reading Help

The country that avoids war and the country that fights but has a hard time winning have been combined. The Swiss made some excellent firearms and the French made some unique and occasionally inspiring ones. We have added the Belgian and Dutch since they are neighbors.

Tag Reading Help

Post by kenb86 » Mon May 23, 2005 8:55 pm

Hello,

I just picked up a new for me K31. It's a '41 model. I had a '51 prior to this but decided that what I really wanted was an older model.

This one had a tag. I can't make out any of it; I'm really poor at reading handwriting. Can any of you guys read it?

<!--EZCODE LINK START--><a href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v42/k ... glarge.jpg" target="top">Here</a><!--EZCODE LINK END--> is a larger scan of it.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Ken

Thanks for that much... it's more than I had. Looks like I'll be working on this in Photoshop tonight, see if I can't clean it up a bit.

The Cp is company and the last line probably stays for ressort Reduit 2 or some fortress.

That handwriting is like spaghetti for me (with sauce <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :b --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/tongue.gif ALT=":b">; )

Guisan,

Could you please elaborate on that?

The Reduit is the final resistance area the Swiss planned during WWII.

See for more in Halbrooks's "Target Switzerland" and you'll understand.

Thanks,

The Reduit in the Alps was definitely going to be a tough nut to crack, so it made for a fine deterrent<!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :) --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)">;

I'll be at the library on Tuesday getting that book. Thanks for the pointer.
