K-31, finally

K-31, finally
Well, I finally decided to aquire a K-31, and asked Allan (Allan's Armory) to send one. 1939, beech. Ought to be here tomorrow.
GP-11 seems, by all accounts, to be such fine ammunition that I think I'll shoot it for a while.

GP11 is the finest surplus ammo out there, and there is no arguing about that.

Here she is...
Well, after a tribulation or two I'm registered on the new site (thanks Robert.) Just mozark now.
Anyhow, what a pleasant surprise my first K31 is.
A 1938 rifle, refurbished in 1954. I assume the Beech furniture dates to the refurb. The bore is about as pristine as any mil-surp I've seen. Lands as sharp as new. I did choose this rifle primarally for it's bore.
My first five shots, GP11 at 100 yards, prone with a front sandbag. Nice, nice, shooting rifle.
I think I'll have to get her a Walnut stocked companion now.

Now, that didn't work very well. I'll need to play with the new image attachment process later. Sorry.

Post-maul
I'm certain she'll drive tent pegs with the best of them, should the need arise.
I'd been skeptical of the K31's. Short LOP and seemingly clunky, but they certainly are fine rifles. I'm having trouble resisting buying a second right off the bat.
I expect this one to rattle the cabinet when the snow starts flying. Probably hasn't seen a good icy gale in some time.
