That really is a nice rifle. I’m captivated by the flip-up scope. This leads me to a question:
Was it a squad marksman rifle or a SNIPER sniper rifle? I thought I read in a manual about the /43 as a pure sniper rifle even saying something like, “...let these people operate free of the other soldiers...”
Hoping I don’t sound stupid,

Well...
I assume it was a squad sniper rifle.
Those were the early years of the Swiss snipers and although they received infoos about individual snipers in action at the eastern front line they did not really do something with that.
The sniper rifles were corps guns and did not belong to a specific soldier.
Thanks,
Guisan.
