Triger Pull on a K31

The country that avoids war and the country that fights but has a hard time winning have been combined. The Swiss made some excellent firearms and the French made some unique and occasionally inspiring ones. We have added the Belgian and Dutch since they are neighbors.

Triger Pull on a K31

Post by MoparV104X4 » Sun Jun 19, 2005 10:42 pm

I am new to K31 rifles, I got one for a birthday present from my wife and children. When I took it to the range to try it out I found that the trigger like many old military rifles has a long pull. Only with my K31 you never feel any take up in the trigger, it just goes off with no warning. Are all K31's like this or is there something wrong with the trigger group on this one? Is there any way to fix it? It seems to function OK in every other respect and seem to be quite accurate but it is a surprise every time it goes off so you must never go any where near the trigger until you are ready to fire.

Best to do is to take the trigger assembly out and give it all a good cleaning.

Taking is out is easy after unclipping the long spring arm.

This shows the trigger mechanisme and "2" is the point where you should feel a resistance when pulling the trigger.

Thanks,

K-31's have a rather strong 2nd stage, and it makes for a nice change from shooting Mosins all of the time.....you can never tell when those things are about to go off<!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :b --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/tongue.gif ALT=":b">;

Thanks for the help, I have shot several mosin's and I can always tell with the ones I have. This is the first and only K-31 I have ever shot so I gather there is something wrong with this one because the trigger has a long travel back and goes off with no feel at all.

Have you removed and cleaned the trigger group as advised above? In most cases this will resolve the issue.
