K31 & K11 grenade launchers...

The country that avoids war and the country that fights but has a hard time winning have been combined. The Swiss made some excellent firearms and the French made some unique and occasionally inspiring ones. We have added the Belgian and Dutch since they are neighbors.

K31 & K11 grenade launchers...

Post by Guisan » Mon Apr 14, 2008 3:50 pm

Not many know that these excist, the war learned that simple anti-tank weaponry was needed and from 1944 on the Swiss made these launchers with the several grenades.

They were soon obsolete as armour got thicker and rocket launchers took the place of these, by the late fifties they were no longer used, the new Stgw57 got new improved rifle grenades that were able to shoot much further as these.

Almost all of this stuff was scrapped and it is much looked after now by collectors.

The first type of launcher with the wing levers was just for the K31 and the second tube like laucher was designed to fit both the K31 and the K11.

The so-called "white" magazines are shorter inside as the normal mags so they won't take life ammo, just the special aluminum cased launching cartridges do fit.

Early dummy grenades had a wooden "war head" but got damaged a lot by using that is why the later black rubber version took over of these.
