Spliced Forend On K31

The country that avoids war and the country that fights but has a hard time winning have been combined. The Swiss made some excellent firearms and the French made some unique and occasionally inspiring ones. We have added the Belgian and Dutch since they are neighbors.

Spliced Forend On K31

Post by LoLo25643 » Fri Jun 24, 2005 6:29 am

Here's the newest K31 that I got from Allan's Armory this week. It has the Finn type splice with a lighter piece of wood to the forend. I think this is my most interesting K31 now.

It's a 1944 with an electropenciled bolt sleeve.

LoLo -

That is unique! I've thought for some time that the Swiss and the Finns were the best at filling knots and slicing pieces. It adds character that a perfect piece of wood does not have.

That is definitely something different:) Splices are rather common, but the placement of that one is pretty interesting.

Thanks for sharing,
