Mexican Mauser Question

Post by dmyhand610 » Fri Jun 08, 2007 7:21 pm

I have a Mexican Mauser which I believe is a Model 1924 since it is stamped 1933 on the receiver ring. I think it has been altered to .308 Cal. with a new barrel. My problem is, it needs an extractor, and for some reason these seem to be hard to find. I have tried a few different extrators and I have been told that the extractor from the 98 will work. I have one of these installed now, but it does not seem to be equal to the one which has gone the way of all flesh, and it does not always extract well. Does anyone on the list know of a Mauser model extractor which will work? Thanks, Dennis

I have a Mexican Mauser. It is 7mm and is a model 1910 and is of Mexican maufacture. They were made up to and including 1934. They are a small ring type 98. Hope this helps some. I am looking for a new 7mm barrel. Does anyone have a clue? The barrel is 29" long.

Welcome to the site. Don't know what the best source for a new barrel is but Midway has what they advertise as a 7mm Mauser barrel. Have no idea if this would be what you want or not.
