How about some prizes and a 5 chance contest?

I have some patches and pins from back when the site was new and I have decided that maybe a contest to give a few away as prizes will encourage some participation....maybe even participation by posters who otherwise would read only.

Through the end of the month of May 2012, the following prize subjects are now open for contention. Each subject winner will be awarded a patch and pin as a prize as well as a site awarded "at-a-boy". The subjects are as follows.

1. New post that produces the most responses.
2. Old post that continues to produce interesting responses.
3. Best photo exhibition of a collectible firearm in a new post.
4. Best ...or the worst... actually funny joke.
5. Most interesting new photo in the post a photo string.

The prizes will be all the same. A pin and a patch mailed to wherever the winner is in the world. At the end of the contest I'll ask for any suggestions to be PM'd to me as well as ask for suggestions among the moderators....but will be responsible for the choices. Nobody can win more than one prize subject and we will have five different winners. Winners will be announced on the 2nd of June.

the pin & patch actually arrived a couple of days ago. My apologies for not mentioning it earlier. Have been a little distracted of late dealing with a close friends loss of her only child.
I can't believe the random meaningless picture thread is still going strong and is now 2 days short of its sixth anniversary. Maybe I should patent/copyright the concept ?

That is a long time for one subject for sure. And in the joke forum at a gun nut site too. I guess we must all have some sense of humor as part of taking up the gun hobby.
