,455 Webley firing .303 British

Post by Aughnanure » Wed Apr 20, 2011 6:36 am

Somewhere many years ago I read about a British Officer who shot a German with a .303 service round fired out of his .455 Webley.

After a bit of thought my mate John Kell and I fired one Mk VII each from his Mk IV Webley with complete success but no accurracy :!: We hit a man width cardboard box at about 6 feet and the projectile passed clean through the target albeit sideways. It would have hurt.

Has anybody read of the original incident?

I think that I may have asked about this before but can't find any reference to it.
