Normaly I am not tht great Mauser fan, besides those nice shooting swedish Mausers.
Mostly because of the real unfriendly sights on most Mauer 98s.
But some years back I stumbled across the brazilian Musquefal M968 on some posts and since than I was looking for one.
3 weeks ago I spotted one on a dealers homepage and asked for some pics.
When the pics came, one could clearly see, that Bubba was one of the former ovners, he ruined the upper band, and the Handguard was held in place with silicone glue. SLinf fastened with two screws in the slot for the frog.
But otherwise the rifle was complete, nice, sharp bore.
So I ordered it an yesterday it arrived.
Bubba also hacked arounf in the barrel channel, but this in not visible when assembled.
Have to fit a new Upper band, therefor the frontsight has to be removed, but I can not see, how it is attached, no pin vissible, maybe shrinkfit or soft soldered.
Does anybody know for sure, how it could be done?????
