Don't you hate it when that happens??

I think, but I'm speculating here, that the "joke" is in the third drawing where the character on the right is passing the two who are counting the tissues says "hey" (by which I think they mean "hello") the two tissue counters respond likewise. In drawing four when they return to the tissue count they've lost count.
If thats what the drawings are meant to say then I get the "joke" now.
Its the odd use of language and the drawing thats thrown me I can't read the facial expressions of the characters, good idea/joke but badly drawn methinks.

I bought a 12 pack of beer the other day. Started stuffing them in the beer fridge without counting or thinking about counting them out of the cardboard carton and then suddenly started counting eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve. My mind was counting without me realizing it. And the count was right. ......... I can understand the joke..... but strange how the mind works even when we think we have it turned off.. Now a box of tissues would probably be a different thing.

Sorry I read a lot of Japanese comics (manga) so I laugh myself stupid at things that others don't get until I explain it,yes that's the whole joke-losing count,I've done it many times and I'm sure you all have too.

No need to apologise mate keep them coming, new is good.
Whats manga?
When I used to visit Japan regularly, 20 odd years ago now, there used to be magazines with that strange style of drawing. The zaibatsu men would be reading them on the trains in the morning and there content was about round eyed women getting abused, well weird.
