Re: Shooting again..........
Since this seems to be the automotive thread, I will post this........
After spending a stupid amount of money getting the Ranger just how I wanted it,
it is up for sale. Bought it on a whim because I thought I needed a pickup, well I have never
put anything but bags of groceries in the back. So obviously I didn't need a pickup....
Started looking for a small, running around town car and found this.
"I bought one of those tiny Smart cars, but it was too small so I took it back and kept the white
box that it came in.... " Just kidding of course.
It's a 2017 Kia Soul Plus (the middle model) that has more room for me than the Ranger. A 2.0l 4-cyl, auto,
that has more pep than I thought it would. Has everything I wanted, except in-dash navigation, so will just use my
Garmin GPS. And it's not black, my last 4 vehicles were black, time for change. White is OK, but I really wish it's the
blue color of Duncan' new car, but you can't pick the color when buying used.
So far I really like it, the only downside is I'll never get my money out of the Ranger... oh well. Although I did get it
at $1200 below KBB dealer price, so that helps a little.
Seems I have joined the "small car" club with Duncan.....

Re: Shooting again..........
So far Vern I have nothing but praise for my Kia and the support from the dealer and the company.

Re: Shooting again..........
The specs say mileage is 25 & 30, we'll see, but still better that Ranger. Although I drive
so few miles, mileage doesn't really matter.
I bought it used from a Ford dealer as is, so like a 30 day warrantee or so. And the dealer is about
an hour & a half away, so will get serviced locally.
I drove the Ranger down to buy it, started snowing, on top of snow already on the ground. So this is how
I drove home, luckily the Ranger is 4X4 ....... all the way home.....

Re: Shooting again..........
First mileage check on the Niro, just running about round here was 47 mpg

Re: Shooting again..........
Great conservation of fuel there Duncan. My gas guzzling...relative to your vehicle...truck,...has a total of less than 6000 miles on it and will be three years old next month. I have no idea what the mpg is and don't really care all that much.
One of the odd, gimmicks, produced by Ford for my truck for fuel saving, is that if I engage a button selector the truck automatically turns off the engine at a full stop after a momentary pause. Then, say after a light changes to green, the vehicle computer turns the engine back on automatically as soon as the foot lifts off the brake. Fuel saving? Insanity. Probably gives Ford a mile or two better sticker advertisement fuel economy. Thankfully, I can turn this feature off. The insult to injury is that this "feature" no doubt was added into the bottom line cost of the vehicle.

Re: Shooting again..........
Trouble is Robert I am paying around 6,60€ / $7,32 per gallon for petrol here so MPG is important..............

That is pricy. That's about what a premium six pack of beer costs in the US.

Re: Shooting again..........
Wow, $7.32 a gallon is a LOT.... .... Today at Costco it's $2.57, and we never have prices as cheap
as other parts of the country.
