Drake, Your thread had been very educational for a person with just a single No.2 Mk,I*. The Prideaux Loader was interesting in that I felt there likely was some form of speed loader, but never came across one.
If interested here's a couple of items concerning my revolver:
It's a 1942 dated Mk.I*
The logo is the simpler 'ED' I*
My revolver hasn't been FTR'd and appears to be original with minimal wear...beginner's luck. It goes to the range nearly every trip. Just fun to shoot and pretty accurate at around ten yards. (I'm really not a good DA shooter.) I still haven't hit a 25 yard gong with it, but I will.

There was actually a Prideaux loader for the .38 caliber revolvers as well. They're both quite rare but I've seen the .455 variety crop up more often.bradtx wrote:Drake, Your thread had been very educational for a person with just a single No.2 Mk,I*. 1942 is an interesting year for a MkI*, that was the year the MkI** was adopted. Yours must be an early-year example. Does it have walnut or bakelite grips? Does the right grip panel have a brass or steel disc? Is the pistol blue or parkerized and painted? Is the backstrap smooth or serrated?
Just trying to fill in some gaps in my own information.
My No2 MkI** does require a bit of concentration to shoot accurately beyond conversational distances with the double-action only hammer. The mainspring is a bit lighter than the SA/DA No2 MkI, though. It usually produces decent groups at 10-15 yards, in the 1-2" range with commercial 146gr S&W LRN ammo.

It has walnut grips similar to your Mk.I**, but without the disk and not milled to accept one. The metal finish is lightly park'd/painted and the backstrap is serrated. S/N is R28XX.
Acouple of old pictures:

PS I can get some better photos in a couple of days if you'd like.

That's a very nice Enfield, Brad. Out of curiosity, does it have the hammer block safety?
Here are a few videos I took. The first shows the operation of the Prideaux device and .22 kit:

These show firing the Mark VI and Enfield No2 MkI**:

The Prideaux device looks useful for a quick reload. Somehow the .22 single shot thing looks like a one step further than the gun needed to go.

Hi,
Nice pics, is there any chance you could post a couple of pics of the 38 Mk IV detailing the hammer and striker? Also, do you have a stricker out of the hammer which you could photograph - mines missing this part and its hard finding a replacement here in Finland.
Most, US dealers wont post anything out of the US, even little parts. So, I need to try to make one! Some good pics would help. I also need to repair the shield which has a large hole in it where the stricker hole should be.
Thanks
Al

Re: Webley & Enfield revolvers with accessories (image heavy)
Drake: Were there any .38 Enfield revolvers produced with a rounded sight, like the one on your .38 Webley?
Also, I have been told that dry-firing the Enfield No1 Mk2 will damage the firing pin. Is this true?

Not unless someone took a file to the sight. Even the prototype models had a squared off sight blade.thundermug wrote:Drake: Were there any .38 Enfield revolvers produced with a rounded sight, like the one on your .38 Webley?

I doubt you could dry-fire a No2 enough to do any damage to the hammer nose.
