Well here we are, some close up pics. It's in mint condition and shoots well although a bit short in the stock for me. No problem to rectify that.
First time out I hit 11/25 DTL which is not bad considering it is 1.5cm short in the stock and I am having great trouble holding anything at the moment until I get my carpel tunnel ops sorted.

Re: GETTING MY HANDS ON A CLASSIC - GREENER GP
Just saw your post Duncan. Now that is a lovely Greener. I have one myself, 30" barrel 3/4 choke. It was my grandfather's gun and has been used on our farm for years. It isnt in as good shape as yours, always thought of getting it reblued, but then thought it maybe wouldnt be the same. When I was a boy my father bought a Webley & Scott .410 tube and put it in the Greener. I killed loads of rabbits with it. Enjoy!!!!!

Re: GETTING MY HANDS ON A CLASSIC - GREENER GP
I have now extended the butt by 1omm to fit me.
I removed the existing 10mm butt plate ( home made ) and replaced it with a 20mm one made from French Wine Barrel Oak.
I decided not to try and match the existing wood and grain as it would not look right. Better to have a total contrast I feel.
After shaping it I smoothed it with wet & dry paper, applied a grain sealer and then oil and finished it with my usual wax & white spirit polish.
It fits fine now and shoots great, just wish i was as good as the gun

the contrast looks pretty good and gives it a distinctive look to it , now if you cant shoot well with it, I would consider exchanging it for an old zaballa that I have . Robert
