Re: The experiment in site management that failed.
Well that would be great. Couldn't hurt any. Hell.... I'll make you a moderator if you like. Hey Niner, Moderatorship isn't necessary. I've been one back on Shootersville and then had that board that Camp and I started. I'm about moderated out. I just sent an email out, and might do a few more tric...

Re: The experiment in site management that failed.
So... What if I tried giving this place a shout-out in my newsletter and/or my website? This place has all sorts of good info, and I hate to see it like this. While business has dropped off recently, I'm still chugging along and so I know milsurp isn't dead. It's not even on life support. It's just ...

👉Accurizing the Mosin-Nagant Using the Shim Method
Mosin Accuracy: Why Shims Work One of the biggest misconceptions surrounding the Mosin-Nagant is that accuracy is determined solely by the barrel. It isn't. If it were, the Finns wouldn't have spent so much time shimming and bedding their rifles. The Mosin-Nagant action sits in a wooden stock. Wood...

👉An Experiment in Rimfire Bedding
Savage MkII 800px.jpg For various reasons I don't want to glass bed my Savage MkII. I'm not sure I'll stick with this stock, and, in my work with Mosins, I find that minimal receiver to stock contact provides the best repeatability. I'm experimenting to see if that'll carry over to rimfire; I think...

👉Mosin People: This Is How You Fix Sticky Bolt
The Mosin bolt is meant to be fitted. During refurbishment, it often wasn't and this led to hard to impossible bolt operation. What is really a very robust rifle gained a bad reputation in the West for this, and other malfitment, reasons. https://i.postimg.cc/xdjcGB7W/cam-3.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/...

Re: The experiment in site management that failed.
I tried to see if I could coax guests to post by requiring membership in the message board to read the forum material. Much of what is here goes back 20 years and shows the progression of milsurp collecting in a timeline that isn't easily found elsewhere on the internet. Some of the information her...

Re: Anybody who used to be a member years ago still out there?
From how long ago? I got busy and didn't get anything milsurp for a bit, and recently for back in to of a little. New-to-me Steyr m95 that seems to have no import stamp, and I'm gearing up to start making ammo for it.

Parts Questions
Hi Guys, I have Mauser parts that I'm trying to identify. 1. An ejector. I'm thinking 93/95. Why wouldn't it fit an 1891 Argentine, though? (That's cosmoline, not rust.) http://i1147.photobucket.com/albums/o560/Smith-Sights/parts/93%2095%20Mauser%20ejector.jpg 2. Floor plate. What model? 1909? http:...

Re: M/N target (peep) sights.............
I tried one as a compliment to what I do. I just can't get used to peep sights that far forward. I mean, they're well made, but both the Mojo and this one have the same problem of being too far forward for my liking. I've come to prefer the stock rear sight with the notch worked over with a 2mm diam...
