A war accoutrement that I saw mentioned today

Things a soldier would carry other than firearms, ammo, or uniforms. Meaning equipment such as ammo pouches, bayonets, holsters, oil cans, cleaning equipment, etc.

Apparently women working in shipyards during WWII needed something for protection. I can imagine a hot welding spark? Maybe a dopped wrench from someone working above?
